Turtle Tours
Five species of sea turtle frequent our coastal waters and can often be seen on the surface close to the reefs or during dives on the Sodwana reefs. Green Turtle, Hawksbill Turtle, Olive Ridley Turtle, Loggerhead Turtle and Leatherback Turtle are often encountered.

Diving
Sodwana boasts some of the most southern coral reefs in the world and as such offers incredible diversity - although it is only a fraction of the size of the Great Barrier Reef, it is estimated to contain more than two thirds the amount of fish species.

Fishing
The main fishing season runs from November until May but the deep water and excellent topography combine to keep bait and gamefish around throughout the year. Sodwana is also host to some of South Africa’s most prestigious fishing competitions.

Ocean Safari
Take a trip out with one of the boats and enjoy a whole different view of beautiful Sodwana Bay from the sea and stand a chance of encountering any number of the ocean’s amazing creatures along the way.

Discover Scuba
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to find out but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a full diving course, Discover Scuba Diving will let you try scuba to see if you like it.

Kite Surfing
From beginner to advanced, Sodwana Bay is a fantastic destination for kitesurfing with frequent strong winds.

Whale Watching
The Sodwana Bay Whale Watching Tour procedure is a surf launch, through the waves, and you need to hold on tight in order to stay on deck, a thrilling experience, but once out at sea it’s a lot calmer. There can be few experiences as rewarding as seeing a humpback whale blowing or showing off in the water.

Surfing
Surfing is a surface water sport in which the wave rider, referred to as a surfer, rides on the forward or deep face of a moving wave, which is usually carrying the surfer towards the shore.

Spear Fishing
Today modern spearfishing makes use of elastic powered spearguns and slings, or compressed gas pneumatic powered spearguns, to strike the hunted fish. Specialised techniques and equipment have been developed for various types of aquatic environments and target fish.

Bird Watching
The best birding areas around Sodwana are the Ngoboseleni Trail, Lake Sibaya to the north and Muzi Pans further inland.
